Styling our 6 Favorite Types of Sweaters

We love a great sweater and all the different textures, fabrics and fits you can get with a sweater. From chunky sweaters and cable knits to lightweight pullovers and mock turtlenecks, sweaters are the easiest way to update your cold-weather wardrobe.

1. The Essential Pullover

On a chilly winter morning try wearing a super soft pullover sweater in a great  color like wine or a classic black or winter white. This timeless look can be paired with everything from dark denim on the weekends to a printed midi skirt during the work week.

2. The Plaid Cardigan

Nothing says winter like a plaid cardigan. Layer a coordinating dress underneath with black booties or top a bodysuit and denim look. Find a way to layer this cardigan and be ready for whatever your week brings.

3. The Chunky Knit

Texture of a sweater is always a great way to add visual interest and dimension to your outfit. Sport a chunky knit with distressed straight leg denim and complete the look with a pair of stacked-heel booties and a delicate necklace. Swap the denim for a skirt for an instant work week look.

4. The Classic Turtleneck

Not exactly a sweater but a turtleneck adds a simple minimalistic vibe to any outfit and always works under everything from a sweater to a jumper dress.  Top it all off with a denim jacket. Add tights and booties for the winter chill, or swap out the dress for vintage gray wash jeans for a weekend worthy look.

5. The Boxy Sweater

An easy and effortless look, the boxy sweater is the best thing in your closet  Pair it with a blazer and take your look from office hours to after hours. Just swap out your accessories and shoes for a night out look. Then pair it with joggers and socks soft enough to make you want to curl up on the couch with a favorite book. Even throw on a jacket and sneakers, and run those errands.

6. The Hooded Sweater

Weekends were made for sporting something soft and comfy––like a hooded sweater. Stick with black leggings or comfy joggers and top it with a super soft, hooded pullover sweater layered under a basic solid or striped knit top. Add sneakers and a backpack before heading outside.
